The fund drive for the Gerrie Collins Endowed Piano Scholarship at MSU has enjoyed an incredible start. As of 8/25/23, we’ve raised $17,550. In other words, in less than two months, we are just over 70% of the way to the $25,000 endowment goal!
Because I’m devoting every waking hour to the film I’m doing for the memorial service (as well as to all the other details relating to the event), I will not be able to send proper, personal thank you cards to donors until later this year. In the interim, I thank all of you collectively for this tangible outpouring of respect and affection for my aunt.
If you have not yet contributed to the fund but would like to, you can download the MSU Foundation donor form here, which you can then print and mail to the Foundation with a check the good old-fashioned way. On the appropriate line, please write in that you wish to direct your donation to the Gerrie Collins Endowed Piano Scholarship. Alternatively, you can donate online at the MSU Foundation website, in which case this post might help in navigating the somewhat-quirky donation page.
It would also be tremendously helpful if you would update the appropriate fields in your 88 Keys account to reflect any contributions you make. Just click on the “Edit Profile” button to the left of the panel, then open the accordion to “The Gerrie Connection.” This information is not published on the website, it just helps me track totals for overall progress reports.
Once again, thanks to all for helping to make this honor a reality!
